In response to the coronavirus outbreak, Orange County Sheriff Don Barnes moved to close front lobbies of stations and REDUCE the circumstances of taking in-person police reports and suspending visits to the jails. At the same time Los Angeles police INCREASED its public support by assigning detectives to supplement the regular patrols.
OC SUPERVISORS STAY SILENT ON EVIDENCE OF EVIDENCE MISCONDUCT
While authorizing spending for the OC Sheriff's Department, county supervisors continue to remain silent about revelations of Sheriff's Department evidence booking misconduct that could weaken thousands of criminal cases. Calls and texts for comment to of the supervisors were either not returned or answered with a decline to comment.
